One common problem caused by sun damage is hyperpigmentation. This occurs when too much melanin builds up in the top layer of your skin or in deeper layers where new cells are produced for replacement. Melanin comes from natural pigments called melanocytes, which produce this pigment to protect against UV radiation. When they're overactive, however, they produce too much dark pigment that settles under the surface of the skin and causes discoloration (or hyperpigmentation) known as melasma or age spots.

Photofacials are a safe and effective way to treat damaged facial skin. With photofacials, We use light-emitting diodes (LEDs) which emit red/infrared light energy directly onto the patient's face in order to stimulate collagen production and increase elasticity for younger-looking results without surgery or downtime.
